Christmas Morning ... 55

Money was scarce that year,
but he scrimped to get the gift she would love.

He wanted to see the look of wonder as she unwrapped his offering.

She slumped over the gift.

“Tears,” he thought.

Until he realized she was out.

Her drug induced stupor sickened him,
but he didn’t know what to do.

Oh dear, am I reading this wrong or was his gift the thing that caused her to keel over? :(

Very graphic 55 m'dear.

G-Mon: Thank you! Ima hope your Christmas was great as mine! The neighborhood is better now.

Mona: Yes, quite an ordeal. Thank you so much!

Akelamalu: She was too drugged out to even realize she had the beautiful gift in her hands. Very sad, indeed.

i actually know of someone who would probably be like this. she's just straight up whacked nowadays. it's the reason my husband has sole custody of his son. :-/

her choice was mostly alcohol, but she does other things, too. we're not quite sure what at this point. he sees his mom only on rare occasions.

It's sad how some get caught up in it...not realizing the damages that take place around them! Happy New Year Rastaman! ;)

Drugs be bad.

Save for the green.

Sometimes we give so much it hurts.

'tis why we have to be careful who we decide to give TO.

But, that can be a hard thing too when you are a giver, by nature.

It's also hard when you have no choice in someone that's close to you being this way, for instance a family member. You still want to give. And there's nothing you can do to help them. Cos they have to want to help themselves.

Sorry it took me so long to get to this 55, Peter-kins.

But, for some reason, I think it's good that I read it now. It's rather poignant to my life. If that makes any sense.

Because sometimes it's not just drugs that someone can be caught up in. There are many things in this world that can cause a person to be in a drug-induced stupor-like state.

And there are just as many gifts.

This story is universal, and you nailed it on the motherfucking head.

I'm glad the neighbourhood has been lookin' up for you.

The trees are good.

Kisses to Muggles!!
